Seeking four joint residents/ silent equity partners

Hey! I’m Riley, in my late 20s, and I work as a consultant.

My partner and I love running, hiking and being outdoors, and we’re looking to buy a five-bedroom home in Clayfield.

Rather than buying a smaller place on our own, we’re hoping to purchase a larger home with a mix of joint residents and/or silent equity partners. The property we’re looking at is around $2.7 million, so we’re exploring a structure where five people each own a 20% share (approximately $540k each).

We’ve actually found a home with two kitchens, which means it could work really well for two households to live quite independently under the one roof.

We’re happy to live with another couple, and we’d also be open to having one silent equity partner. We’d be comfortable paying rent for that investor’s share, but probably couldn’t make more than one silent equity partner work financially.

We’re planning to co-own for around three years before either selling our share or keeping it as an investment and renting it out.

It’s definitely a bit of a unique setup, but if you’re open-minded and interested in exploring different ways to own property, we’d love to hear from you and see if we could make something work together.
